Player Identification Lead, England & Wales Cricket Board (ECB)
Mo’s work as ECB Player Identification Lead sees him assume responsibility for talent identification for the men’s international pathway. Mo’s duties include overseeing the pathway’s scouting network and related analysis activity, informing selection and supporting on-programme player assessments. These responsibilities cover the men’s senior teams, Lions and Young Lions and also involves close collaboration with the network of county clubs.
Mo’s previous roles with the ECB include being Operations Manager for the Young Lions which involved managing the multidisciplinary development curriculum for the country’s highest potential under 19 players. Prior to working for the ECB, Mo spent seven years as a teacher during which time he also worked as a coach and coach education tutor.
Mo has a BSc Honours in Sports Science & Management as well as a Post Graduate Certificate in Education. Mo has also achieved ECB Level 4 Master Coach qualification and is currently in the final year of a Masters in Sporting Directorship programme. In recent times Mo has been involved in the FA’s DNA Leadership Group and Talent ID Education programme and has acted as a technical consultant to the LTA’s Talent Selection Strategy Group.
